Why do we tell others "stop being so sensitive"?

Instead of telling ourselves "stop caring about others being so sensitive"?
Exactly. Invalidation only makes a person more emotional
Maybe it justifies our actions and makes us not feel as guilty

@MartinTheFirst in other words why do we sometimes just ask people to stop feeling something, when we don't realize we are guilty of the same thing to some extent?
