if you live/lived somewhere where it snows alot

What advice would you give to somebody who is gonna be there coming from somewhere where it rarely snows at all?

It is funny, I am originally from Buffalo and they are more prepared for bad winters, but since 83 I have lived in Nashville.

Nashville does not have bad winters, but they do have a problem with black ice under the snow and idiots from places that have bad winters assume that they know how to drive on black ice. Nashville is not as prepared as say a NY, Ohio, Michigan etc so the roads are pretty bad for the 1-2 days that we have snow.

You can't move as fast as you can in non-snowy/icy places. But it is very important to keep moving.

Boots, winter hat, jacket and gloves are a must. Oh, don't eat yellow snow.
Stay where you are

Learn to drive in the snow in an empty parking lot, & be cautious of black ice.

Don’t lift the snow shovel with your back... lift with your legs
