Okay, i swear I'm literally the only person I know who doesn't find the sound of rain calming and can sleep to it. Who else is like this?

I don't understand why and how a person can actually sleep to the sound of it. Its honestly one of the most annoying sounds, and I just don't get how it can calm people.
Is this weird?
Am I weird? ....Well yeah I am aha.
But I'm 100% sure other people would feel like this.
I'm rambling about this cause its raining and I can't sleep.

It's a kind of white noise like a steady droning, and people tend to find that kind of noise relaxing. Also, a steady background noise drowns out the smaller, irritating noises.

Me too... I'm quite like you... Rain n petrichor excites me, and thunder frightens me a bit.. Lol... I can never sleep! ☺
And I have no problem sleeping otherwise... Lol

The sound of rain calms people because there is a certain repetitiveness that doesn't embody the boring monotonocity one expects.It is the certainty of calmness, the assurance that nothing bad will happen.
