I Am a Werewolf

I'm not going to say that any info about wolves I state here is true, I'm just going to vent about something I can't really tell anyone else and give my opinion about that.

I'm in a group of certain (supernatural) people for over a year now, but I think I'm not learning much from them (cause when I ask a question I get 10 different answers for example). The unofficial leader of the group is a wolf who can't shift.
Lately I was talking about online supernatural communities and her response was that werewolves don't go around on the Internet saying they're werewolves, and that they have always known what they are and if they will shift or not.

To be honest, I call bullshit on that- why is it wrong to say what you are on the Internet? And why is it almost self-evident that you're a fake if you do so (in her point of view)? She told me to 'watch out with saying this all over the Internet'. Most people wouldn't even believe me anyway, so why is it wrong and potentially dangerous? Really, I'm doing it on the Internet because I can't and don't talk about it with my family and friends. I would want to but I don't think anyone would understand me, let alone take me seriously.

Second statement... I know I'm a wolf, but I haven't always known that- simply because, of course I always knew I was different from others, but till four years ago I didn't even know werewolves exist. So in my opinion you can't say something like that and then state that "you're probably not a wolf if you think you might be one, wolves just know they're wolves, they always did" (I was in a period of self- doubt, something that wolves apparently don't do either because they "know what they are")...

It's kind of naive to say something like that as if it's that self-evident. Especially since I've learned that there are no sure ways to tell if someone is a wolf, that's why I was doubting myself btw- I found so much info that I kind of got lost in it about what is true and what's not.

While the experienced may not say what they are, or those who do know from the start, there is no shame in asking for help, especially online, on a medium where you could get (anonymous) help without looking too silly or putting yourself out there in a major way. Everyone does things differently, and besides, as you've said, it's not like people are automatically going to jump and take you seriously.

Anyway, just be careful out there, since there are always those that want to benefit or exploit others anyway they can, with anything they can. That, and the potential freakout in some places would be my personal reasons for keeping it a secret online.
@Haylani Yep :) and thanks for the advice. It's not like I'm telling everyone, and if I did I only did it on communicaties where other people said (roughly) the same.

@icouldntthinkofagooduser If you ever need help with information feel free to ask anyone on here. Haylani is right. It's also best to find just a few people to talk to who seem well informed about everything. Perhaps we could start a conversation in private if that would be of your preference.
@makkopolis
Sorry to reply this late (I was offline for half a year because of stuff at school) but if you still like to talk in private, no probs lmao.
Have been. Correction. I left after some of us got into a discussion about something related to my culture. No regret... One of the leaders is trying (well has tried once) to contact me but I'm not returning. Talks ar fine but no requests of returning (I don't expect they're missing me anyway).

I completely agree, I myself have always knew I was different but didn't always know of werewolves and there for didn't know what I was. And yes some werewolves may not be as open about it, there are still plenty that are.
