I Can Have a Sense of Humour

I love British comedies.

*shudders* I don't understand British humor. It's hit it miss with Stephen Fry, when it comes to me.

British comedy can be described as "black humour" for the most. When I say "black" it has nothing to do with race but "gallows humour" if you see what I mean.I cannot laugh at American comedies,I don't find them funny at all and I dislike that canned laughter that is triggered by totally inappropriate actions and words. But in their comedies the British only laugh at what is worth laughing at and they don't laugh at someone asking for a drink or opening a window for example.

See, I don't see it as funny. But to be fair, they're completely different worlds. The British and the Americans have completely different cultures, even though they stemmed from one, essentially. It's not so much black humor as dry humor, told by stories that are set as in jokes. I can't honestly stand listening to British stand up. I can't stand much American stand up either, but some of it I can relate to better. Comedy in a nutshell, I suppose haha.
