I Will Be Remembering Someone On Memorial Day
My father was one of those guys. He grew up during the depression. Never finished college because he went into the army. Fought on the front lines in North Africa and Europe and was decorated for bravery in combat. Saw some of the survivors at Dachau. Came home. Married. Worked hard at his job. Raised children (lucky me).
"The greatest generation"? Maybe so. Certainly he was one of the finest human beings I ever met.
He passed away a few years ago. Memorial Day is not the only time that I think about him. But I will think about him on Memorial Day.
