I Have Synesthesia

I'm jealous of those that can see music outside of their minds' eye! I can only see colors with music and sounds in my mind, but it's not very strong. Either way, I agree, it's amazing.

Actually, most of the action is in my mind's eye. I do see faint flashes of colour directly and percussion makes my vision pulse in time even if it's quiet, but the stuff in my mind's eye is way more detailed and vivid, and with the right kind of music it's jaw-dropping. In a pitch-dark room, it looks just like it's there. I don't like listening to music while driving because it's so disorienting.

It can be lonely, I'm reluctant to talk about it unless someone else brings it up first because people already think I'm crazy.

@crossproduct: I feel the same way, but I love talking about it with other synesthetes and experiences that they had. 🙂

I like trading music with other synesthetes too, most people can't relate. Hey, do you mind if I add you? There aren't too many of us around.

@TamTenn: Aww, I don't have permission and I can't message you either; I guess you're too young. That sucks :/ I'm thinking of posting a story about my own synesthesia experiences, but again that reluctance.
