I Love the Band Genesis

Genesis needed a change. Tony claims he never wanted to get big and tour with fame and fortune. I think Phil is a very smart man. They didn't even have much success until "Follow you, follow me" was released. From that point on, genesis became very commercial. Everybody says "Oh I only like the old genesis and they are too commercial now" yeah but for musicians to stay float they need commercial success too. Times changed, genesis changed, but they have maintained progressive rock on their later albums. "Duchess, Duke's Travels & End, Domino-In the glow of the night, Home by the sea 1&2 for example". So I enjoy and appreciate everything they have done from the late 60's to calling all stations.

@waleskinder great jam
Some might call that selling out. Would they have starved if they stayed proper prog rock?

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I think so. Tony and Mike did some serious funding to keep the band going
