I Am Not Planning On Having Children

Later in life, I know that I don’t want to bring kids into my life. It’s just my personal choice, I know I wasn’t made to take care of children, I know I’m not “mother” material I guess you could say. And I’m not bringing a child that I’m not going to want into the world because of the pressure of others either. The other day I was talking to my mother, and at some point we got into the topic of kids, and I tell her “Oh I don’t plan on having children of my own” let me tell you, she lost her mind over that statement, and went on a total rant on how because I am a woman, I was made to procreate, and how selfish it was of me to not want to have kids. Okay, first of all, it’s my life, it’s my body, I get to decide what I’m going to do with it. And it is not my obligation to have kids, I am not bringing a child into the world knowing that I didn’t want them in the first place, and second of all, I don’t want the responsibility of being a parent, because when you are a parent not only are you responsible for your well being, but the well being of another life lays on your hands, third of all, I am not good with children, I just can’t deal with them, I can’t handle them well. And lastly how is that any of her buisness what I do with my life? You had your children, that was your choice, I didn’t ask to be born. And you already have grandchildren, so? What’s the big deal? I just hate when that happens with me and my mother, but we always butthead with each other, we are the total opposite, and we always find a way to argue with each other because she always wants to control my life, she doesn’t realize that I’m an adult, that I can make my own choices, without her. Just drives me insane.
