Do you know about Ramzan? [Spirituality & Religion]

It's a month of fast concluded by the festival of Eid. Muslims fast for the entire month, that is, they can't eat anything between 3:30 am to 7:00 pm for a month. They can't even have water and this is what baffles me. In my city which is among the most humid in the word and temperature hits 40 C more often than not, I don't know how they do this. Living a couple hours without water is literally impossible for me 馃槓

I hate fasts. They aren't necessary, and it's a way religious organizations strive for control over people. I'd say it's an immoral practice.

@beingawesome: I think the stricter a religion is the more certain we can be that it's false.

I find atheistic Hindus and Christians? But how rare is atheistic Muslim! Brainwashed folks, aren't they?

@beingawesome: There is always the element of consent.

It's no big deal...just have to change ones eating habits for a month.

@Unlearn: Are you a muslim? I find not having water throughout the day very tough, in a city as humid as Kolkata. I am worried about a friend. We'll be having exams soon :|

It's quite harsh to have it for an entire month.
