It's not science itself that is the problem, it's how some unbelieving scientist are reading its evidence.

@MrPerditus1 While science is great and maybe factual...there is politics, greed, power and money which is above the science. So all that amazing science that was intelligently created by the God given brain is carefully filtered before released. So, who knows what kind of END RESULT science you are being spoon fed. You do realize that, right?

@GodSpeed63 Then that should have been clarified, because your statement attacks science, but not the faultiness of the human being. If science isn't the issue, than it shouldn't have been in quotes because that was your initial target.

Look, I'm not saying you don't have the right to believe and say what you like, you do. But attacking things is like me pointing how all Christians or Catholics or Muslims or anyone believing in a God are terrible, evil people because of all the atrocities that have been committed throughout time under the name of that God. But, I don't say that because it's not true. It's the individual that reads things wrong.

But with science, it's an ever learning and changing thing. Mistakes are made, learned from and corrected. Anyway, that's my take on it.

@SW-User But that can be said about anything, including religion. Get people involved and many will alter it to suit themselves and their thought process. Can't tell me it hasn't happened before. But to shoot down all science or even every scientist is, to me, irresponsible and potentially dangerous.

@MrPerditus1 I think scientists are actually people who bust their ass day and night burried in their experiments looking fir cures to save the world. Unfortunately, they don't decide what is being put out there because other more powerful people that gave nothing to do with science shut them up. Greed, money and power are very powerful motivators they will crush any good scientist without thinking twice.

@SW-User And you're right, those things are very powerful motivators, anywhere in life. Science, religion, business, you name it. It's there.

@MrPerditus1 I think if we had an open access directly to the very original experiment/tests/lab results and all original reports or books had been published by all these genuine science people that devote their lives to science, we would be healthy and happy. But then how would the money be made if everyone was healthy and happy. Nope. Bad idea...for some people.

@Fernie Very valid and put well, but still I am addressing the original statement before it was changed. I'm not saying science is perfect, nothing is and never will it be. But nothing will be gained if nothing is ever ventured into and though I can't say I know how things are done exactly, I'd rather the testing be done and maybe something good coming out of it, than nothing being done and more things getting out of control. I'm not saying they shouldn't be watched or regulated, but don't come up with insane ideas to control the populace.

@SW-User I can guarantee you, that even with full access, someone will come along and do what they always do and twist what is being release. They'll alter it to fit their agenda, whether it's for or against. But at least for those of us that actually take the time to look things up, it would be better. Too many are too lazy or just want to cause trouble by stating things and letting the run rampant and we as a society seem to be of the mindset that we'll run with what ever sounds right at the time, till it's proven one way or another. I do say "we as a society" as a generalization. I've never been one to buy into the gospel as it's told to me, that being of science, politics, religion or anything else like that, I was taught to think for myself, question but respect others beliefs as long and they don't try to shove it down my throat or in some cases, spout out insanity. Even then, most times I'll just sit back and ignore, as I've said, it's their right to believe the world is flat, that the governments of the world are spreading a disease for whatever reason they can come up with or that aluminum hats will keep the satellites from reading their minds. Okay, those were a bit over the top, but again, I'm just pointing out that if you want to believe those things, fine, but I want physical proof from multiple sources that back it up, not just from the agencies that support that set of ideals. That's about it though. I'm not saying don't question, but lets be intelligent on how we question.

@MrPerditus1 I don't come with insane ideas about population control. After I started to actually observe the things that just don't add up in what they preach I slowly over time started to come to the conclusion that actually that " conspiracy theory" about decresing workd pop might be real plus Bill Gates openly admitted it. Only the deaf or dumb will still not believe his own words.

@SW-User Well, to be upfront, I never picked you out, that was just a generalization. If you were one that did, I probably wouldn't be talking with you. There is no getting through to them actually. But I do try to respect each person. I haven't heard the Bill Gates comments, but even highly intelligent people are prone to their own personal thoughts and feelings, it doesn't make that the law either. I am a skeptical person, I will question almost everything, I don't take other peoples words and normally I stay out of political and religious conversations because we all have our own views on it. I don't try to change peoples minds, just state what I know, whether it backs them up or doesn't only in rare occasions, like when I saw the title. THAT is what brought me here. Not that fact that it's a challenge to the scientific process of scientists, but it was directly pointed at science in a whole. Accusing "science" as being the bad thing. Unless I read it wrong. So fine, change it to scientists, people are not infallible, so then anything people are involved with can and will be as well.

As for the Bill Gates thing? I will look into that and see what exactly was said and go from there. Anyway, I hope you have a great day and stay safe.

@SW-User You're half right. Politics, greed and power do affect how much money is supplied to pay for which research projects in science.

But that's not the whole of it because:
~ wealthy people have left whopping great bequests to the top universities and scientific institutes, (these are invested; the dividends pay the wages),
~ there are thousands of charities; ordinary people donate to pay for the research that matters to them,
~ international organizations have an interest in matters that affect the whole globe and pay for priority research.

This means at least half the money which funds research does not come from politicians, commerce, or vested interests in power. And these funds are spread across many projects in many fields.

Research is peer reviewed. This means independent scientists, in the same specialty in other institutes and parts of the world, closely examine every detail of how a study is done and how the results are analysed.
The experiments and research are then replicated to see whether the results are predictable and reliable.
Once something has been verified, it is published in the science journals specific to the discipline.
Once something is established as reliable and useful, it becomes the basis for further research and refinement.

Science journalists rewrite the discoveries in lay terms for the general public. Magazines like Scientific American are not funded by vested interests, but predominantly by the subscriptions of their readers.

You don't know me at all, you go by what little bits I wrote here and because you don't agree, you try to put down instead of attempting to have an actually conversation. So, I'm fine with it.
