I find the christianity teachings can be very pain cause if you fall in life which i certainly do , you could be very harsh on yourself [Spirituality & Religion]

I love the teachings but it's a way too painful . At times I can tend to turn to buddhism cause I can get less pain from it , like mindfulness and all of that but when I do practice buddhism it brings up a lot of overwhelming emotions , very raw emotions. Then when doing it my soul can get very empty . Also I practice praying the rosary and that's a powerful prayer .
So I'm kind scared and confused on which path to go .
Had anyone similar situations about there beliefs?
You are not understanding what grace is. Once you ask for forgiveness and follow Jesus, there is no more condemnation to you. Your sins are washed away and forgotten! Jesus knows we won't live a perfect life, but He doesn't hate us every time we sin. We do not lose our salvation every time we mess up in life. If you have a son or daughter, every time they make you mad or you guys have a fight, you don't disown them I'm sure! Neither does God abandoned us! You may have a little break in fellowship with your children, but you don't get so mad you throw them away.same with God. What we do when we make a mistake, is ask God to forgive us and he definitely does and then your fellowship with him is restored. He never ever abandons people. He does not hold grudges!

Buddhism is only about self-awareness. It has nothing to do with Christianity, whatsoever. Jesus is against all these different religions because they never offer salvation or eternal life. God is against ALL man-made religions. Every one of them, because they are only man-made philosophy. He tells us clearly that he is against man-made philosophies, in His Word. Stick with His Word, and you cannot ho wrong. All the other religions of the world did not die for you or your sins so that you could have eternal life. And show me where any of the other religions in this world have access to God the Father. They don't ....and they never will.

I am a Christian and I find that every religion teaches you something. If god didn’t want a religion to exist he wouldn’t have let it.
Sadwithasmile · 22-25, M
@Emosaur can I just get this straight. You want me to believe that god isn’t real even though I believe he is real and you haven’t given me proof that he isn’t real. I believe that you have the right to believe what ever you want to believe however i am ignorant for not believing in what you believe plus I’m also ignorant for saying that you called yourself an asshole (which you did).... I’m sorry you feel that way tbh .

Just FYI you, literally, did NOT @Emosaur

If you follow Jesus only, and make a commitment to Him alone, He will send the Holy Spirit to live in you, as promised, and this brings you the peace, love, and joy you seek. Jesus said that he is the only way to heaven, because he is the Son of God and he is the only one that has access for us with his father in Heaven. If anybody knows a better way, I'd love to hear it, because I have loved and known Jesus for 45 years and He has never failed me, even once. He brings, with His Holy Spirit inside a believer, all the peace, love, and joy they need. Other substitutes leave one empty, lost, and confused. Satan is the author of confusion, not Jesus. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:8 God and His Word will never steer you wrong.
We all fall in life. We live in a fallen world. This is why we need a relationship with Jesus....not just religion. Jesus came and died on the cross for you and me so that we would not die in our sins for eternity. He loves you.
I’ve had so many doubts over the years and done so many bad things. I don’t deserve heaven or the love of Jesus. No one does, but he loves us anyway.
It’s about trusting and believing that Jesus is God, that he died to save you from your sins. I’m sorry, but the rosary will not save you...Buddhism will not save you. Only Jesus can save you.
When you are ready and you are in a quiet place...call out to Jesus. He does not care about fancy words...he only cares about those that are seeking. You are seeking.
Ask him to show you the truth, the right path, the right way to live and he will. It won’t be instant, but his answer can come in all different forms.
Read about Jesus in the New Testament.
Praying for you to find what you need. ❤️
@MissMollyCharlotte0702 Right on!! So true!
Christianity is about relationship, not religion.
Any time you need to talk, I'm here for you. https://similarworlds.com/19-Spirituality-Religion/2976917-Living-and-Remaining-In-Peace-When-we-choose-worry
Blend them to get the best of both. You don't have to be an extremist and go all in for one or the other.

@canusernamebemyusername that is awesome
@Sadwithasmile I don't have a religion but I grew up Christian and think there is much beauty and understanding one can learn. If one doesn't of course read their own biases and hate into it.

Read the scriptures. God doesn't hold anything against us if we repent.

2 Timothy 2:13
If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive

Christianity and Buddhism run parallel. You may not see this now but someday you will.
curiosi · 61-69, F
@riseofthemachine The Bible didn't make a whole lot of sense to me for a long time. I started practicing Buddhism and I realized things that I just couldn't grasp previously.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@curiosi I read a story about this catholic woman and she was very rigid in changing her beliefs and it was through pain a Buddhist tried to change her mind cause her husband and herself wasnt getting on for years cause she was after causing the husband severe pain for 5 years and when the Buddhist started to talk to her and bring her into a retreat for 6 days she was able to start talking to her husband again and her husband went in also with his wife and they were able to get on like a house on fire cause over bad communication problems for 5 years and now her husband worships her and now believes in buddhism.
I thought it was a lovely story cause no one would of changed her mind about buddhism over being a catholic

@riseofthemachine The path will be different for everyone, chose what you feel in your spirit. What is right for one isn't for another.
What matters most is self-awareness paired with a sense of community. There are support groups, non-religious churches/places for gathering, volunteer opportunities, and many other options out there. There are lots of ways to feel fulfilled and connected. Just keep trying new things and you will find a way.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@lovelywarpedlemon but when you do try to connect I find it can be a very scary place that's if your brought up with a God of fear , like if you go away from one belief to another .
Before something amazing happened me with the belief I had and it was complete peace of mind I had and it went beyond human explanation and my problem is I'm trying to chase that experience again . It's like a drug to me (never took drugs) but a matter of speech .
That experience I experienced is nearly wiped me out by chasing it so I'm very afraid to try something new in case I'm thrown it back in the beliefs face I experienced . It can be very painful now and when I switch to another belief my head is telling me I'm doing wrong . Do you understand me ?
@riseofthemachine Yes... Even though it's hard, we have to learn through experiences. But humans only know so much... When we start to see and feel deeply about life, we find we have more questions than answers, to just about everything. That is definitely scary.
@riseofthemachine There is no need to fear God. There is no fear in perfect love, and God is that perfect love. He is love personified. When the Bible says to fear God it doesn't mean to be afraid of him, but to have a respect and reverence for Him, being whom He is. When we are connected to God, like you have experienced, then yes, you definitely feel that peace. By reading your bible and praying, you connect back with that Holy Spirit inside you, which you can then feel God's spirit and peace once again. Fellowship. One week without spiritual food, makes one's own Spirit WEAK. That is your only problem. Stay close to Christ. Read your bible daily and talk to Him each day. The answers are in Him alone. Not in religions. Jesus said so, Himself. Do not stray from the Truth. Stay faithful to God. When you have Him, you have all you need.

According to a psychology map you're bouncing between Folly and Despair. This isn't a good place to be.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@Success Your right . How do you know that ? What should I do ?
Success · 26-30, F
@riseofthemachine Discard all magical explanations. Believe instead that we are guaranteed an infinite series of worthwhile lifetimes due to how nature (infinite and eternal) works. This will put you on a course towards achieving Wisdom.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@Success Nature do works infinite and eternal.
Like at times the way I look at different mood swings is nature . Like the changing of seasons . Different moods . The dark days and the bright days (inside a persons mind) and I think a lot of that has to do with the sea for the different seasons like the human body is made up of 70% water which changes the mood in the different seasons (like winter and summer)
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Follow your instinct, you need to treat religion like it's a relationship. If it's toxic then leave it.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@SatanBurger you said it , thanks 🤗🤗🤗
