Yeah i know. That's why i asked this question. It says i was a man and then later Jacob realizes that he wrestled with god and still lives.
I'm just asking you if when you said "three in one" you were referring to the father, son and holy spirit rather than three in one, the father, son and angel.

That's right. There's only one God but three persons in the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God was testing Jacob's faith in Him. You are right though that it was an angel that wrestled with Jacob and I was less right in being that the angel is a messenger of God. I found the passage in Hosea 12:4 where God talks about that incident with Jacob.
