I Like Creative Writing

I have been writing stories since I was 3 years old. No, I didn't learn to write by age 3, but I had my mom write the words that would flow from my lips. Since then I have been a natural writer. This year in May, I walked the stage for my bachelors degree at one of the oldest schools in the state. I got a major in Music and a minor in Writing. If there had been a writing major I might have gone for that, but there was not. I took many creative writing courses there, and was addicted to taking them. They were fun, as well as knowledgeable. And there was a lot of positive feedback, because the instructors encouraged the positive over negative. Being positive is better than nit-picking the negative, because not only does it tell you what you do well, but it lets you know what you need to work on without making you feel like a worthless writer. There is no such thing as a worthless writer, because writers are always working on their craft! There is always room for improvement as long as you are still writing. And there are different levels of writing, so no one should go hard on a writer who is just beginning, or has less experience. It's better to guide a young or inexperienced writer with knowledge of what you've acquired in order to help them better their craft and boost their esteem, rather than put them down. Everyone should agree to this. It's a win/win situation when writers help each other. And this is what my instructors did.
