I Want to Make People's Lives Better

Rise Up

It’s so easy just to fall n think that you’re not doin great
But in those times, what you’re lookin at is people that you hate
Thinkin that they got it fine, that their lives look quite sublime
-But that snapshot that you see is from one moment of their time

Your life’s got lots of balls, not all rolling on the floor
What you tend to notice is that only one of them don’t fall
You want em all spinnin at the top of the world,
-But what you see is not the picture that you want up on your wall

So your head is in the sand, and your balls are in your hands,
What you do not realise is just what will happen if you stand
You haven’t got enough resources and you haven’t got the time,
-But your focus is distorted by those pesky grains of sand.

Your thoughts they lead to feelings and your feelings lead you down,
So lift your head up tell your feelings that they failed to bring you down;
Your eyes will see the hands that help you up off of the ground,
-And your balls will seem much lighter as you start to move around.

If you now strengthen your posture and you straighten up your core,
Then you’ll find yourself noticing that those others you “ignored”
Aren’t so very special and that they are not perfectly formed
-And from there you realise you are all standing on equal lawns.

Now you found your bed of marble at the bottom of the sea,
Look around you for the great things that rise up from the valley
Set your sights on what you want and then your focus clear as day
Takes you where you just imagined – you taught emotions how to play.
