I Think That Personality Is More Important Than Good Looks

When it comes to dating, looks and personality are both important. A guy's appearance initially attracts me, but his personality determines if I continue to date him or not.

If a person is good-looking but they have a shitty personality.. their appearance changes before my eyes. They suddenly become less attractive. And If I don't find someone attractive , but they have a great personality, they start to become more physically attractive. It's weird how that happens.. but it does.

The nerd in school noone pays attention too, yet you see him in the real world and he gives his seat for an older lady. I find that attractive

Do you make assumptions like you see someone whos good looking and dressed a certain way to make you think they would have a shit personality, but then you talk to them and they turn out to have the best of both ? Like can you get over the stereotypes you make ?

@SW-User I try to get to know people before judging who they are as a person. . But we all make initial assumptions based on a person's appearance. For example, if I see a guy in a brand new Ferrari ,I'll assume he's rich ,but i don't assume he's selfish, arrogant or looks down on people. However, I don'trust anyone until I know their true character.

That being said, there is some stereotypes I won't get over. For example, I'd never befriend a drug addict, because it's stereotypical for them to steal to feed their habit. They'd never be able to earn my trust regardless of how good of a person they are. Unless they were totally clean.

@Victorianna thats a good way to look at it

I like how you considered the flip side too

Shows what my heads lacking

i was only thinking about good looking or rich ppl and the way i percieve them 🤦‍♂️

With drug addicts i would colour the view for them to be untrustworthy as more of an archetype than stereotype

But yeah never judge a book by a cover - unless its got a needle in its spine 😂

Too far 😜

True. And I always look for the little things... random acts of kindness.. things they do unconsciously .. things that interest them and why... THOSE really draw me in too :)
