My car passed inspection and emissions test YAY!!
But.... they didn't fix the exhaust leak. Here's the rest of the story ;)
I went into the office and the girl who takes care of customers was explaining to me that it's a Y pipe that needs replaced, and there's a catalytic converter included. But, she asked the owner if he had a minute to explain it better to me.
The owner of the shop who we've been going to for the last, 20 years does amazing work, and is constantly busy. Anyway he told me that the flex pipe is under the meshing and that the meshing isn't what holds the emissions. He said the Y pipe has a converter on each end, and would cost me $1000.00 USD to replace. (I'm assuming that's for the part and the labor)
With me working all this overtime, I'm fine with that, as long as I could set some money aside for all of that, but I think it'd be cheaper to order the part from Rock Auto and install it myself. My dad was telling me he asked a place near where he works about it, and that place said with a 4 cylinder they can cut out that part, but not with a V6. I have a V6. And the owner said it's not something terrible that has to be taken care of right away, but as time goes on it'll get louder. He said, as long as you're not getting fumes in the car (which I'm not) then he said he wouldn't worry about it. So I'll probably just try to set some money aside and go from there.
