If a American gave up there citizenship can they get it back?

Say you are born in the United States & you want to become citizen of another country! Can you still get your citizenship back?
Not if you denounce it, then you have to apply like anyone else
@dunpender: I loved my Time in the UK and almost didn't come back

@ECHO22: well I don't like Venezuela is now. It's so sad it has all potential to have amazing economy with their oil. Also it's way to socialist. Venezuela should not be a poor country. But people like Hugo Chavez & Nickolas maduró have ruin the country. The Venezuelan people deserve better! 🇻🇪

i wanted to know that too... i'll be moving to the UK possibly as soon as next year, and then eventually coming back, wondering if i'd have to go through a bunch of fuss to be reinstated since i'd be there some odd years
@ECHO22: awesome! thank you so much!

@ECHO22: I thought U.K. Was not a third world country! Some Americans dream to live out of the states because they want to live far way from American politics. I even hear USA is very far from happiness country in the world
@DancingStarGoddess: You got it!! Have a great time over there

@Mulder: well they could move to another country & learn what's it's feel like to be a immigrant & some Americans don't appreciate their citizenship because they born a citizen. So they understand what's it like to be a immigrant.
