Left and right accuse each other of hypocrisy on foreign policy, shock!

And argue with each other even though they are both against War. This is how politicians win and people lose.

It'd be so refreshing for people to talk about the salient points without name-calling, propaganda, personal prejudice, point-scoring, or the automatic inference that someone else is wrong because they occupy a different space in the political spectrum.

I can't remember the last time I heard a debate which took in the reasons the world is as it is, and an analysis of what would help. Without blame, recrimination, hysteria, insecurity or fear. Just a clear-eyed appraisal of what is actually happening and what needs to happen.

It's stunning how seemingly ignorant many of us are willing to portray ourselves on something so important and fundamental to our lives.

This is where the bloody political labels lead us. First people choose side, then find reasons to support the views of their side.
If both Thatcher and Le Pen are right, and Sanders and Kim Jong Un are left, there is something wrong.
It's no longer between left and right.. Now it's nationalist and globalist..

In reality its about the rulers and the ruled. Who ultimately benefits most from what we call globalisation? The rich.
Just what do ppl expect the value of a single currency to do?. I predict gold will be 5cents and ounce..

@theoneyouwerewarnedabout: Err... OK. I am no fan of the Euro actually, if that is what you mean.

Tell a lie. I would back it but only as part of fully integrated, socialist and democratic Europe. 😜

I'm not sure what you mean when you say that both left and right are against War (?war). Obviously that's true in one sense, in the same way that everyone is in favour of love, against rotten tomatoes, etc. But in another sense it's not true. Most people, on both left and right, believe, and always have believed, that the possibility of war should be considered in certain extreme circumstances - in particular, when there is a credible perceived threat to themselves or their essential interests.

Obviously. I am specifically talking about recent events though.
