One speech made the technically correct note that slaves, in coming to another country and settling there eventually, were immigrants.

The other speech painted a picture of less-than-voluntary relocation to a promising land that would offer a better life for their descendants, as if that was the reason for coming over.

@Booyeah: No, the US has moved so far right that it has no idea what the left is anymore. Unfortunately the UK is becoming the same but some of us still know what the left is. Bernie was refreshing because he's somewhat left of the centre but Obama is not.
