Why are the left majorly the ones that disrespect Martin Luther King's memory?

I remember during the BLM protests for George Floyd last year, there were rioters and looters during the period. Everytime any person who was against the rioting would bring up the fact that MLK peacefully protested, usually a member of the left will respond "Well, look what happened to him."

Are you implying that only the ones that commit no violence whatsoever are the ones that end up being killed in the end? I'm sorry, but have any of you ever heard of a man named John Brown? A radical abolitionist who used violence to liberate slaves? It's not like he had much a better result in the end.... 🙄

The “racist right” certainly has no respect whatsoever for MLK’s legacy. They’re the ones waving confederate battle flags now. I remember when he was assassinated and they were waving those flags in celebration. So they’re hypocrites. And of course we remember John Brown. Nat Turner, too.

@bijouxbroussard it's pretty amusing how they waive the confederate flag yet try to play hot potato with racial hate groups like the kkk or neo Nazis.

They are in heavy denial about their pretty bad relationship and history with race

@bijouxbroussard I'm just pointing out the "Look what happened to him" is an illogical talking point.

People who have led violent revolutions have ended up dying or being executed in the end.
@MickRogers That happens to people who fight for their own freedom and for that of others. Even by non-violent means. It’s illogical that right-wingers pretend to respect MLK when they don’t respect non-violence under any other circumstances. On January 6, they were certainly armed.
