I actually have no idea, all that stuff confuses me. Neo liberals, neo cons, Neo from the Matrix... which the Matrix copied off of Dark City so we won't get into that. I really have no idea.

Globalist is a word kind of like elitism, the left and right parties always rant about "global elites" but fail to bring up which elite they're talking about.

I've always wondered and still never get an answer, it's one of the enigmas of life 🤔
@SatanBurger Neo cons are a mostly American flavor of neo liberal. Neo liberals buy into the Chicago boys idea that society (which Thatcher famously claimed doesn't exist) should be run based on market liberalism and everything else doesn't matter. Neo cons are only different in the sense that they believe in the project for a new American century that basically dictates that now that the USSR is no more and because "American exceptionalism" that the USA basically has the equivalent of a divine right to rule the entire world. Many also are fond of Ayn Rand. Aside from those two differences neo con is just the American term for the same thing. In all cases party affiliation is pretty irrelevant.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That sounds scary.
@SatanBurger It is pretty dystopian.

In the US “the word is now ubiquitous, popping up in almost any socialist polemic against the Democratic Party or the center-left.” NY Magazine.

Pretty much the same as classical liberalism. Neo-liberalism advocates for minimal government interference in the markets. Adam Smith argued that such a free market would be guided by an 'invisible hand' that would increase economic output.

Neo-liberal policies include globalization. Also, there's a difference between globalism and globalization. Globalism can refer to removing borders to make the world more interconnected, and setting international policies and laws. Globalization simply refers to removing trade tariffs and other barriers to make trade and international commerce easier.
Basically the idea that society (that according to Thatcher didn't exist) should be governed according to the principles of the Chicago school and the "Washington consensus" while pretending ideology is dead.
