I love how the Lincoln Project forgot that the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore.

Their anti-Trump ads show hammer and sickle emblems emblazoned on everything and keep making reference to Trump's alliance with the USSR's political leaders. Guy, you're 30 years too late.

Funny how many people in the USA think that Russia is still communist
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@HannibalAteMeOut Half the people in this country who I speak to have never heard of the French Revolution, which was the origin for their entire Constitution. So I guess I'm not surprised lol

@BlueMetalChick that's wild lol

Not sure... the American Constitution came into force in 1789, same year as the French Revolution.

@HannibalAteMeOut You're kidding. Half of them think the Democrats are communist.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@Abstraction that too 😂
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@helenS Sorry, I meant to say the French Enlightenment, not the Revolution.

@helenS I always get the two words mixed up because in my native tongue, we often refer to the two events as one single thing, Francuski Promena, which basically means "French Change". That's how it's taught in history books in Serbia.
helenS · 36-40, F
@BlueMetalChick I think that's only appropriate. The French Revolution is the immediate political result of Enlightenment.
The beginning of the modern world, with all its glory, and all its disasters.

@helenS And now, finally, we can eat cake 🍰
@BlueMetalChick When Chou En-Lai was asked his view of what the effects of the French Revolution were, he said “it’s too soon to tell.”
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom Oh dear lord. That's fucking precious. How late in life was he asked that?
