UK massive tax hikes on the way

In a few of the Sunday papers today.
UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak is warning of major tax hikes in the new year as Britain starts paying back the debt borrowed for the Coronavirus.

Also in many papers the Prime Minister Boris Johnson suggesting that a ‘no deal’ with the E:U seems the most likely outcome and people should prepare for that possibility.

Internal Tory party squabbles are already simmering as many Conservative MP’s represent business interests openly.
One or two starting to sew seeds of discontent warning that the Prime Minister will be on shaky ground if he tries to push his Brexit deal through Parliament and it not being up to scratch.

The populist right is choking on its own contradictions. Brexit was sold on lies and half of the political class still feel obliged to pretend that a no-deal Brexit won't be a disaster. However, Johnson won an election on this basis and he either has to capitulate (a-la-May) or throw the economy under a bus.

I'm generally not aligned with British business and in fact, I'm a socialist. This is about facts vrs fiction though and team reality against team wishful thinking. Nobody has yet produced evidence for any benefit of a no-deal Brexit and its because they can't.
