Is the United States being divided?

Yes, my country is being divided by race and party and ideology. It's pointless tribalism. I reach out to the other side all the time. I try to make everyone feel respected and appreciated. Everyone else should do the same.

The left has gone in a direction that is anti American and would destroy the country as we know it if unopposed. Some fights are worth fighting, and this is shaping up to be that fight.

I think the better question is whether or not it’s ever been truly united. I think there have been fleeting moments of unification (like WWII or the brief period after 9/11). However, we’ve been at each other’s throats much more often than not over our history.

When 40% if the population is fantasizing openly about recriminalizing gay sex and birth control and are constantly using violent rhetoric, there is no hand to reach out to. Just look at the content of the meme spam from the righties here. Or just look at Trump's latest rally.

No - its all make believe hype - things are not as bad as they are portrayed - esp by the foreigners who are envious of OUR lifestyle. 🖕Them and the foreign horse they rode in on.

We have always been divided as a nation, but because good manners are no longer being taught in homes across the nation, and because of the media, and social media and the internet, we can now actually witness an explosion of vicious and abusive squabbling. I believe this does make us [i]feel[/i] more divided.
