one station.. all the rest are the media arm of the democratic party..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout If you ever had an original thought or opinion it would probably kill you.
luckranger71 · 51-55, M
Not to mention a correct thought as well. 😂@LegendofPeza

Yes. This has been another edition of simple answers to simple questions. 😎

@luckranger71 If you haven't yet read it , this is well worth the while ; https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/03/11/the-making-of-the-fox-news-white-house

Consider the following. Politics aside for a moment. Fox in the US and Australia and Sky in Britain are all Murdoch controlled Media. And there is a common theme. They each have a presentation set designed to appeal to a Jerry Springer viewer audience. Commentators (not reporters) like Hannity and Andrew Bolt work to inflame public opinion and outrage.
Now it is just possible this is not out of political concern. But a model of broad appeal to the lowest common denominator for advertising, for the bottom of the market advertising dollar. Or, as pushed, its a global pro right wing. political power grab.

@whowasthatmaskedman He's in a bad way apparently after a recent fall. I thought one of the most intesting points came at the end of the piece when they were speculating what would happen once his son took over day to day running of Fox. Maybe , just maybe , they can get back to being a (semi)legitimate news organisation. We can only hope.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@LegendofPeza We can hope.. But Business is business. If the answer is they are chasing the lowest common denominator for advertising, then I dont expect much change. The fear and hate $ is easy to grab and spends just like any other. And fear hate greed and Paranoia all sell so well in America that they are trying to export it. It sells here, but to a much lesser extend.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@whowasthatmaskedman Shameful is the only word for it. And to think that Trump has a perfectly good message of a good economy to run on and yet he is going to try and scare people to death about immigrant invaders , the evil of socialism and Democrats who want to kill babies. The people who fall for this stuff really do deserve what they get.

except in this case the tail wags the dog
CuriousCutie · F
No more so than MSNBC or CNN do for Democrats and Liberals.
CuriousCutie · F
@LegendofPeza My contention is that CNN kissed his a$$, and slanted what he did in a dishonest way to make him look better than he was.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@CuriousCutie That's insignificant when compared to how Fox covers this White House.
CuriousCutie · F
I don't doubt that Fox caters to Trump. Unfortunately, all news now has an agenda, besides just reporting the news. I rarely watch any news, and never watch Fox or CNN. '

Kind of, in reverse. The WH takes direction from Fox
Hasn't it always ?
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@Underconstruction Well only since Trump was installed there. 😉
Budwick · 70-79, M
No Cold Hands, their just the only ones actually reporting the news. I understand how you might be confused what with all the others lying to you every day.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@LegendofPeza In the MSM, yes.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@Budwick At least we cleared that up then.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@LegendofPeza You can't imagine what a relief that is is.
And its going to get worse before it gets better, I think, over the next two years. Fox's political symbiosis with Trump is short term gold, but its demographics don't look good for the long term and Trump and Sinclair have both drained a lot of talent.
I wouldn't be that surprised if Fox News doesn't get bought sometime soon.

Fox News is a laughing stock just like the orange cheeto himself
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@SW-User Not to the millions who watch it though , the people who make up Trump's famed base. That's not funny it's scary.

SW-User
@LegendofPeza I agree with you, it's terrifying

I don't know, but when the Gestapo is about to arrive for an arrest CNN is already there.

@HoraceGreenley sometimes you just need "sign"language...👍

Yes, basically. They and Breitbart are the only “news” organizations the President has deemed truthful—because they kiss his arse and report things only from his perspective.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard He's repeating conspiracy theories now , the latest one being Michael Cohen's non-existent manuscript for a book. They can say absolutely anything there and if it chimes with what he wants to hear , then he will run with it.
bijouxbroussard · F
@LegendofPeza I don’t understand when they decided CNN was an agent for the left. When CNN reported about Hillary’s emails Trump’s supporters certainly believed them then.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
Yes, but they influence the agenda, too.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@Fukfacewillie Of course they do , Bill Shine is comms director and Hannity is unofficial Chief Of Staff.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
Other than Wallace and Smith they are fascist propagandists.
LegendofPeza · 61-69, M
@Fukfacewillie Yep , totally agree with that.
