Do you think that only citizens should be counted in the census

On the census there's no question that asks if a person is a citizen or even legal immigrant
4meAndyou · F
The Census is supposed to control how much money will be given for schools, and social services. If a person is an illegal immigrant, and if there were a question regarding citizenship on the census, the illegal immigrant would dodge the census, forcing his or her state to operate schools and social services without sufficient federal funds.

It's a very serious problem. People who think they will be deported WILL hide. Unless we give them the option to register in the census, the local schools WILL crash, and social services won't have enough money to pay all the welfare and food stamps the illegal immigrants are using.

On the other hand, illegal immigrants are raping the system.

So, while American citizens would definitely suffer in the short term by a citizenship question on the census, so would those same illegal immigrants, and if they are not sitting back on their fat illegal rear ends collecting welfare and food stamps and have to suffer and work twice as hard, maybe they will all move to Canada. Just saying. Check out these welfare stats: (If you scroll down quite a way you go directly to the graph):

@4meAndyou illegal immigrants shouldn't be allowed to attend public school
4meAndyou · F
@Mountainlady16 While I agree in the spirit of not wishing to burden our struggling schools with the additional expense of illegal immigrants, I can't agree with the idea of denying school to any child who will NOT be leaving anytime soon because his or her parents are breaking the law. This is a very complex (and painful) problem.

Should be noted how many citizens and how many non-citizens
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@nudistsueaz @cherokeepatti Lmao that's spectacularly stupid 😂

Btw, Texas gets a bigger boost from illegal immigrants than CA.
Dshhh · M
@cherokeepatti
And they have a lot of people voting that aren't citizens and some are not even alive,
not according to EVERY state's election boards and Attournies General

ALSO not according to the President's OWN panel to investigate this..

the only significant voter fraud was found in North Carolina, to the benefit of the republicasn

FINd oh lets say 10 out of the last election that were proven fraud.

Fact check things! it's fun to do!

@QuixoticSoul How would you know?
Sicarium · 46-50, M
Only citizens should be counted in the census. People in the country illegally should be deported as soon as they're found.
Dshhh · M
the purpose was to get an Accurate count, without regard to citizenship
it's i the Constitution ya know
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@Dshhh consitution was written before immigration laws were established. We need to count only citizens cause the illegals allow states like ca more seats in Congress
Dshhh · M
@Mountainlady16 that is NOT the purpose, we need to know how many people are here, for more practical purposes. like infrastructure and schools etc.

you are also assuming that the purpose of counting every one is a deliberate attempt, by SOMEONE to skew this.
that would be those that WROTE the Constitution, not those that enforce it

that thing about more seats in congress?
it works the other way around
divide a states population, by the number of Senate seats. you find small populations states get fare better representation per capita.
Vermont get a much better ratio than say New York

And there won't be because the courts shot down Trump's proposal to do so. The Census counts people, it doesn't determine legal status issues for government agencies to pursue.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Mountainlady16 Illegal immigrants can't vote.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@Graylight counting them in the census the census count determine the number in Congress
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Mountainlady16 This shouldn't be a problem. Trump says illegal immigrants are going all over the country. Everywhere. Places we wouldn't believe. Pretty sure that's equal representation.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
The census is about figuring out how many peope live somewhere, period.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@QuixoticSoul illegals shouldn't be considered actually living somewhere
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Mountainlady16 Pretending they're not there creates its own problems.
TheProphet · M
Yes citizens only and they should ask if you're illegal.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
TheProphet · M
@QuixoticSoul Of course you want to count greasers and other illegals.
