There's a lot of self help stuff, but when it gets really bad, and it's you or your family that needs evacuation, shelter or assistance, conservatives tend to appreciate the government and get pissed when it lies to the media just like liberals.
The old farts screaming about looters and how good it is to see "those people" homeless and suffering on TV are usually not a few blocks away.
And, I can tell my rabid anti conservative and anti church friends here, that Republicans and people of all denominations can be awesome in times of crisis.
Post Katrina, I saw the best, not the worst of the American people.
