Would you vote for a politician who makes empty promises?

Or do you prefer one whose promises are full of bologna?

Those seem to be the only two choices. Even if there are three or more candidates, there are still just those two choices.

If those are the only two choices, it's because those are the choices we leave ourselves. We have the ability - and some would say obligation - to support and guide candidates beginning at the most local levels of government so that by the time large elections come around we know, understand and had a hand in choosing the candidates.

Candidates and politicians don't just fall from the sky; they're made, they're successful or not on the backs of our needs, our vision and direction. If you had a car with a bad engine, you'd fix the engine before throwing away the car. If you don't like the mechanics of government, open the hood, get in there and change them.

@Graylight You give the party leaders (on both sides of the aisle) far too little credit. They set policy, and they make the candidates. It's the nature of the beast that a truly honorable person probably won't be successful enough at the political game to get their attention. When one does get through, they get their hooks in him and turn him into something else.

There are also circumstances beyond the individual politicain's control which can, do, and have impeded his ability to deliver on his promises no matter how sincere he was when he made them.

But the real point of the original post was mostly humorous. Trump's promises weren't empty, they were full ... of bologna.

@Graylight Wow, this might be a first, me agreeing with you. Now will it snow today?

At this point I'll choose the politician that isn't openly colluding with our foreign enemies.

Nope. If candidates cannot do what they promised to do on the campaign trail without the use of money or donations or even fundraising then they’re not that great at being a leader.

I wish someone would start a movement not to reelect anyone. Let's get rid of the scumbags and elect some new scumbags, dagnabit!
Check out the ones not spending all of the money on campaign funding

I guess we just have to vote for the least of all the evils.
