How does morality/ ethics shape your political views?

Or does it? Do you just believe in what's convenient?

I don’t understand the question; it doesn’t make s nse to me because ethics and morals are not the same things.

@SW-User Yes, they are different and the question is too broad.
In general, not so much, since in times past, I think most politicians and parties tended to give more than lip service to both.

Now, however, I think we've got such a problem with brazen unethical conduct and immorality that I'm starting to think more about how important those things really are.

my father was racist ( he left no impression on me because I knew he was wrong ) but I loved him soooo I never spoke about politics to him because we would not agree. My mother was with us at home & I always stay close to my Mamma she was very vulnerable & depressed a lot she told me things I shouldn’t have been told about her & my father ... she would say I think your father is with other woman & your father is a horrible man I want devorce & I feel like a weight on my shoulders from her for that ! My mother stayed with my Dad for over 40 years & I felt soooo confused 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I guess they loved each other after all huh ? Lol ! 🤦🏻‍♀️🙄🙄🙄🤪

Your question. [quote]How does morality/ ethics shape your political views?/quote] the how is how close a candidate comes to my personal ethics and morals. From that point, you have to make 'concessions' and compromises while keeping intact your integrity and not fall too far from ethics and morals. Point in case, if I were a christian, and support the current administration, I would be so far removed from my ethics and morals that I couldn't even see them anymore.

It does matter to me, so of course it does affect my political views.

No, I do NOT believe in what's 'convenient'.

I am sure plenty of political views are shaped by religious morality but that is the convenient not the best. Rational and "moral" don't always go hand in hand.

It's a broad question but yes is the answer.
