Trump was one of the easiest ways Putin thought of to divide the country and create cahous. He spent decades lending money and helping Donnie get to where he is now.

Putin successfully exploited our divisions. You cannot exploit an undivided nation.

Diplomacy has nothing to do with it. Putting used to head the KGB, when the Soviet Union was still the Soviet Union. He remembers that time vividly, when we spent $Bs to destabilize the Soviet Union, and $Ts in building up our military and supporting dictators and wars, designed to weaken the Soviet Union.

To be fair, the Soviet Union's mission, was to conquer, but we went about resisting the wrong way. Today, it's not about political/economic ideology, but about payback and plain old control, just as it was, centuries ago, when the royalty of Europe was fighting for nothing other than control and greed.

Fuck Putin, it's our own political leaders who are dividing the country, they refuse to work together for the good of [i]all[/i] the people..

United States does a good job on its own to divide the people.

I wouldn't say that the US is becoming weak, we have simply too much power politically, economically, and military for it to evaporate overnight. We're still the single most powerful nation. But are we as strong as we used to be? No. And I don't think it's a matter of having enough weapons, we have plenty of those. I believe, as you are saying, it's an internal problem. We're no longer as innovative as we once were, and much more short sighted. Election cycles are only 2-6 years long. We used to look further ahead, we used to see the future and strive to be the first ones there. The airplane, invented in America. Modern computer technology thrived here, the internet was born here, nuclear power in both its glory and its terror was born here. This is why people came to call us "Leader". But where are we trying to go now? Are we pioneering the future, are we blind to it, or worst of all, are we fighting against it? America was not discovered by rowing up river, but by sailing boldy into uncharted seas.
