Do u believe that Daylight Savings Time should be permanent ? ⏰

I am big on tradition.
I do not want to Christmas Day to be light until 8PM at night. Its not romantic. Winter is about short days and long nights. Summer is short nights and long days. I do not want the states to change this law. Daylight Savings Times should not be permanent. What do you think. 😌

Daylight Saving Time made sense at one point in time, but it serves little purpose now. I'd rather stay on Standard Time all year long.

@Zonuss I get it. It makes less difference in the northern US than in southern states. In summer in the north, with the twilight you can still read a book outside at 10 PM, and the sun will be back up around 5 AM. Shifting the time an hour one way or another makes little difference.

@windinhishair It also coincided with harvesting and planting periods, giving kids and families more time in the fields with some time left for school.

@Graylight That was the original theory, yes.

No. Daylight savings is outdated and only benefits a few. It should be ditched altogether (like many other places in the world who don't observe it)

We should be thankful we don't live in China. Although the country spans five time zones, the government decided that the entire country would be on Beijing time. As a result, daylight is way off in the western provinces, such as Xinjiang, where in Kashgar, the sun will rise today at 9:09 AM and set at 9:01 PM.

@windinhishair Ooh, never thought of that. I have a new appreciation for DST.

I agree.
I'm a fan of the night life, please don't shorten them!

However..

I lived in Japan for 27 months so there was no adjusting the clock.

@HaHLoBravado No DST adjustment in Japan? Interesting.
HaHLoBravado · 36-40, M
Nope! So the time difference to call home would fluctuate.

I prefer standard time. I like to get up early in the morning and see the bright sun. Daylight savings time deprives me of that.
