I Have Struggled With Weight My Whole Life

I also struggle with depression so yay, great combo.

Anyways, since I was a kid, my mom did everything so I could be thin, from karate/dance/swimming lessons combined to pills. My wedding gown price was defined by the amount of weight I lost before getting married.

Anyways.. after a surgery I gained all the lost weight and here I am again trying to lose it. In the past two weeks I lost 5 pounds. I weighed today and I am .5lbs up -_- !!! Even though I've been excercising and eating healthy. Omg I just couldn't take it anymore and I bursted into tears. It might sound silly to you, but for me it was like a horror movie turning into reality. I found my self suddenly wishing to be anorexic or something so I can finally lose this damn weight!

Weight should be a secondary consideration when assessing health and fitness. You should probably be acknowledging that all your hard work is changing your body composition...less fat and some increase in overall muscle mass. This could easily cause someone to gain a little but be in a healthier state.

@CrazyCatLady Did I make it worse?!

Honestly, we should be learning more about this in school instead of trigonometry. Do yourself a favor and NEVER look at a BMI chart. They're just bs. This picture illustrates what I'm trying to say.

@AnimatronicLick Thank you! You didn't make it worse, it's just that right now I am so sensitive. I am so tired of trying so hard and continue to get comments like "Look how pretty your face is... imagine if you lost weight". WTF they don't know I count and weight every calorie and I try and eat raw vegetables more, specially those who have more nutrients and more calories.

I truly appreciate you cheering me up, I am sorry If it seemed like I didn't appreciate it.

@CrazyCatLady It's perfectly fine. I know this is a delicate topic. I've tried so hard to be a good partner to my wife when she works through similar weight challenges.

I'll say this: I've run many races of varying distances (5k to marathon), but there's no more inspiring sight than to be at the finish line later in the race to see someone 50-100 lbs overweight smiling as they achieve something very special. Metabolism is a real bitch to some people. Don't let anyone devalue your struggle. Keep grinding. You're worth it.
