Menopause. I think.

PMS is bad because it happens every few weeks and many women suffer severe pain and anxiety with it. It's really horrible.
Menopause is like puberty all over again, only worse. You're getting all the hormonal bs happening and then there's the hot and cold flashes. And it's a physical reminder that your clock is winding down. Going through it is pretty much hell for the woman herself and everyone who happened to be around when one of the myriad mood swings happens.
But the great thing about menopause is, once it's past, we become a lot more stable. More mellow. At least I did. I'm a happier person now than I was between the beginning of puberty and the end of menopause.
