How much do you know about Plecostomus?

I know they’re not a great aquarium fish and in the long term suck at algae control. I also know there’s a state water preserve in Florida that’s been overrun by them from someone having released some there and the manatee habitat is being destroyed by them.

I had one. it never grew but other kinds do . the river is full of them and they are sizeable.
