Mountain lions are powerful. My dog tries to make friends them, scares me as she doesn't realize they can kill her.

Maybe you should go jump in a cave with a mountain lion and see how well you fare. Those things are pretty big and incredibly strong, and will rip you to shreds before you could say anything else ridiculous.
