Should more friendly animals be turned into pets?

[center]More and more (mostly) friendly animals are being turned into pets. One of the more popular ones seems to be the cheetah as it's sorta acts like a cross between a cat and dog and really isn't that aggressive when fed and trained (especially from an early age).

I worked wildlife rescue for years and saw many orphaned animals become successful as pets, although very illegal in most states. If I could raise a bear cub and have enough money to feed it, I would.馃槉

I love sweet animals, a little extra if you wouldn't normally expect that type to be sweet. And watching the police sure dogs to sniff things, and knowing a bear (reportedly) has SUCH A BETTER nose, I've always thought about someone training them to be sniffers for hunting missing people down.

Oh that sounds like a good idea, a pet that can kill you and run 3 times as fast as you so good luck getting away 馃槀

I would love to be able to pet one. 馃檪 I suppose it's no different than dogs and cats.

@veridane79 Zoo don't usually let people touch their big predators animals because it's dangerous, but cheetahs are more often an exception because when gotten young, they're fairly friendly :D at least most of them :)

A cheetah is not a regular domestic cat nor is it a dog. It's a wild animal. Although many wild animals can be trained to be pets if you get them young enough, I believe they should be left in the wild whenever possible.

[center]Wow, not a single person (so far)... we're talking about rather tame animals here... that just like a normal pets now if you get them t a very young age.

Wild animals should be free

Nah... animals shouldn't be pets, they should be in the wild. Most pet animals are currently only existing because we want them as pets, but there's no need to make another species into this.
