I saw a strange thing in the airport yesterday. I was waiting at a gate and two rows over a man and a pretty red haired woman were sitting together. She caught my eye because she was taking off her boot as she talked to him. She took off the boot, then peeled off her grey boot sock underneath. (By the choice of category above, you can see why I kept watching from afar, but here's where it got weird.) She took the worn sock and unceremoniously dumped it in the lap of her companion. Then she put on a new black sock and replaced the boot. She then did the same for her other foot, plopping the old sock in his lap. The man was basically defenseless, he had one arm in a sling, so I guess being a sock rack was the price of her helping with his carry on, etc.
He didn't seem to mind, maybe he even liked it, but it just struck me as odd.
