How can a smear campaign harm my family?

My husbands daughter has been on a campaign to ruin our family with false allegations and lies to others so she can get attention and get away with bad behavior. I'm wondering if it has the potential to hurt her father and I as well as her younger sibling. The police and Child Protection Services is already aware of it so we are safe in that regard. All that's left is social ruin. Her father and I arent very social to begin with so maybe we wont have any problems. Her little sister still has to go to school though and some of her classmates are the younger siblings of her sisters friends who believe all the lies and their parents believe the lies too. Should I worry? Will lack of networking and an absent social life hurt us much if at all?

A family is not a business, I get why you're worried about the younger sister but I think if you talk to the teachers so that they know what's up it should be better.
