Anyone here a stay at home parent?

The most valuable, and under appreciated, job on the planet.

I had a unique scenario for most of my kids’ childhoods. I’ve been working from home for years, so I was able to make the money [i]and[/i] be a stay home dad at the same time. I realize that’s a rare luxury, and I’m eternally grateful to have been able to provide financially while also being there for my kids and taking care of things at home, too. Any way you can manage to be a stay home parent or have your partner stay at home is a good thing in my mind. There is no substitute for time, and there’s no way to regain it once it’s lost.

I was for a long time ...glad I did ..I don't regret it

I stayed with my oldest for the first year and a half. When my youngest was 3, I started working from home. It’s not the same, but it’s still a better balance. I think the more time you can give them, the better it is for both of you.

I am. And my husband was before me. We've always made it so at least one of us can stay with the kids. I think it works well.

I did it until the kids were all in school then went back to work

No, but I fully support the idea.

I am glad to be able to afford for the wife to stay home. Single income is tight, but worth it.
