Should all teens get jobs? Did you make your teen get a job?

No. I just stopped their allowance at sixteen and let them decide.

My daughter at age 15 asked me if she can get a job, It wasn't like I asked her to. if you raise responsible children you will get responsible adults.and my son did the same seven years later at the age of 16. now they are responsible adults with their own children, and they make me very proud !

It would have been a good idea for me to get a job as a teen so I could get the immature bullshit learning experiences out of the way BEFORE I had to rely on my income to survive.

Both of our children wanted summer jobs to make their own money. We didn't expect them to share their earnings with us.

i don't have children but i began working when i was 8 years old right up til the time i retired at age 59 but still keep busy by doing volunteer work.

no reason not to try to get one. if I have kids and they're old enough to get a job, I'll encourage them to get one
