My son has the flu

And his temp is 101.4 should I take him to urgent care. Or call Dr in the morning
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
Dr said take him to urgent care I'm now waiting on my sister in law to pick my daughter up. At 2 months and a premie she doesn't need that exposure

Watch him if it hits 103 that would be the time to get help
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@SW-User he's just 2

@Mountainlady16 great, then he will fit in the fridge 👍

@Mountainlady16 oh younger, urgent care

101 isn't yet an emergency. If you're worried, call the nurse hotline from either your pediatrician or your insurance.
lou502008 · 61-69, M
give him infant Tylenol and soak him in a Luke warm tub
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lou502008 I did infant Tylenol but didn't think of bath
Shayla · F
@lou502008 And you can alternate between tylenol and ibuprofen every couple hours to see if either brings the fever down.
Dude seriously? Youre his mom why you askig us
What do you think is best for him
SW-User
Depends on how long they have had the temp. If its been off and on then wait til the morning. Just alternate between childrens Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 4 to 6 hours. If its been on consistently for 24 hours or more then go to the ER ASAP.

It’s ok to call your dr now if you’re worried. That’s their job.
Fallflower · 46-50, F
@Mountainlady16 then wait for him to call you back.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@Fallflower I guess I'll have to just worried only other time he was this sick was chicken pox last winter
Fallflower · 46-50, F
One of my kids has gone past 104.. it’s terrifying I know. Just try to keep him comfy until you can get reassurance and advice from his doctor.

Urgent care or ER. Some strains of the flu this year are not worth waiting on.
How old is he
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@Mountainlady16 if it were me, I would because the flu is so bad this year.
SW-User
I would go to urgent care.
