I Do Not Fit In

I'm okay with that for the most part. That's just how I've always been. It's a problem at work. People are starting to notice and have made comments emphasizing the importance of being part of the team. I don't understand how anyone gets to know one another when we all stare at our computers all day and are separated by cubicles. We don't really work together so much as simply around one another.
There isn't time to interact except during bathroom breaks but that's weird. I don't want to have a conversation in the bathroom. Some of them do it though.
I don't want to be singled out as someone more expendable. I just don't know what I can do to change that. It was easier to interact with people in other jobs I've had where my teams actually physically worked together. Office settings are so different.

Suggestion to break the ice a little... Go to the dollar store or another store and buy inexpensive office supplies like post it notes in an appropriate design, pens are nice too, or anything They might use in their daily grind. Get a nice set of note cards in a unisex design. Inside you could write, it isn't often that we get a moment to show our gratitude. I wanted to take one today to tell you that I appreciate you and the efforts you make to help our team succeed. People like to be appreciated.

Azuriela, I'd have to work up the nerve.
Fungirlmmm, I might just do that. That could really help.
Thank you both for the suggestions.

Place yourself in a position where you challenge yourself everyday to move forward all I can say.
