I Need to Vent

So, clearly my darlings, I need to vent. I'm sorry if some of this is too long, boring, or just straight up doesn't make sense. This is also a long story, so buckle up, buttercup.

Last night, my friend sent me a picture on SnapChat saying "Chick Chick Chick Fil A!!!" (She had a coupon and was very excited.) Well, due to the fact the this message could mean anything from "I'm going to Chick Fil-A with my boyfriend, and I just wanted to let you know." to "Come with us to Chick Fil-A!" Usually, it is the latter, so I assumed so. (It really is true what they say about assuming things.) I sent her a message back asking if that was an invitation, and she never responded. So, naturally, I went to Chick Fil A. I waited in the parking lot for almost half an hour, and she never so much as opened the message I sent her. My phone reached 1%, and I called my mom with the little battery I had left asking for her advice. After all, I didn't want to receive a message once my phone was dead that they wanted me to come after I had decided to come home. She told me to come home, which is precisely what I did. I was extremely upset however, that my friend failed to communicate with me, and I had wasted my night on an assumption. It was late, and I still hadn't had dinner, so I went back to Chick Fil A and sobbed (UGLY CRIED. I literally couldn't see through my tears the entire way there, and I don't know how I got there safely.) the entire way there. After the whole ordeal, my friend finally messaged me back saying "I just wanted to let you know we were going." Then I said, "Oh, okay." She then replied "Wait, did you go?" And I told her the whole story, which she found at first "Hilarious" and then "So sad." So, ducklings, if you've made it this far, answer me this: Why am I so stupid!?

Hell I guess you were excited to hang out with her. I would have suggested you were excited for some Chick Fil-A but you say you hung out there for half an hour without even ordering anything....I would have already been through a couple sandwiches by then. And then when they showed up I would've been like "Oh, no I haven't ordered yet, let's eat!"
@SW-User Haha, I really should've! But I didn't want to have already eaten and then have them get there and just have to sit there.

@marilynmichelle Lol, I understand. Sounds like you just jumped the gun a bit on going. I've done it before too.

This could just be me but that sounded a bit presumptuous that she wanted you to go. I would have waited until she responded or if she hadnt responded within an hour perhaps called her to see if it was an invitation and if still no confirmation I would have made alternate arrangements for dinner.

But as I said it could be me and the way I think.

@marilynmichelle presumptuous of you and as you said assuming. There wasnt a clear indication of an invitation as I see it. But like I say my thought process is generallybl different.
@SW-User Yeah. I guess I'm just stupid.

@marilynmichelle or maybe just excited to see your friend

Just know we've all done stupid shit. This sounds downright intelligent compared to some of the stunts I've pulled.
What is Chick Fil A?
@marilynmichelle I've never heard of it, seriously. I'm not in the U.S., does that maybe explain why? Anyway what does it mean?!
@Plain It's a fast food restaurant
@marilynmichelle oh that explains why I don't know it. We don't have those in England, not as far as I know anyway. We've got McDonalds though!
