I Don't Vote

I believe who we vote for doesn't matter. I believe it's a gimmick for the people to feel like they have a "choice".

I agree. It doesn't really matter who we vote for. However, it's still worth voting, even if that means returning a blank ballot. Because, sure, one person's vote simply can't swing an election; most states require automatic recounts if the election ends with one candidate having less than a 2000 vote lead. However, if you don't vote, you simply don't matter at all to any of the people who make the laws you live by, you are effectively dead and merely a silent source of revenue. If you vote, you send the message to your representatives that they should listen to your complaints, and you may be surprised just how often they're vote is changed by letters sent in by their constituents. And, back to the original argument, in the end, elections (for the most part) are determined by the popular vote. In the end, what the people say goes, just not in the case of the presidential election. That might not be worth it. There is a huge number of problems with the U.S. government and with every government, but giving up the vote is not worthwhile; it costs nothing and at least you get some semblance of a voice. At least you aren't effectively dead. Although, in the end, whether or not you vote is your choice. That's the point.
