I Understand How Corrupt the Media Is

NY Times asks Trump not to attack ISIS in Syria, since they are a headache for Iran and Russia. Can media get more despicable than this?

Out of curiosity, did you read the whole article, or just the opening paragraph?

The author knows the Middle East, and specifically Syria, more than any other journalist (and author) I've read. He lived in Beirut for several years. I met him, when he spoke at an event for my company, and I think he really knows what he's talking about.

If you read through the article, you will see that he's prescribing a strategy to end ISIS, as opposed to doing something, that may make some of us feel good, but has absolutely no effect on ending the ISIS ideology.

I read the article. To me it looks like Al-qaeda 2.0, the strategy he advocates is the perfect way to create a new Bin Laden. He does not seem to understand that you do not 'use' terrorists, you combat them.

@Cierzo: That's not really what he's saying. Syria is not Afghanistan. He's saying that no matter what we do, we're not going to end the war in Syria, so we should let them fight it out. And by them, it's Assad, Russia, Iran, Hezballah, and the various Syrian parties, religious and non-religious.

If our concern is ISIS, we should be going after the ideology, and let the "fire" of the fighting parties, extinguish itself out. The problem with this scenario, of course, is all the innocent civilian casualties.
