I Am Feeling Good Today

Good Morning to "ALL" of the Beautiful People in the World!

I would like to say something about a 'comment' I heard last evening on the Delilah radio show.

She had a caller who was a woman that is married for 12 years to a man who was in a serious motorcycle accident and had to spend 13 months in various hospitals and rehabs. She called and asked Delilah to play a song for her and her husband because he was finally coming home. She was speaking about true love and how she stuck by her husband and realized what marriage and love was about.

Delilah then responded to her with, in my opinion, a sarcastic remark. She said you mean to tell me in a world where everyone says you first, look out for yourself, you are sticking by your husband? What's that all about why are you sticking by your husband when you could have just said forget it. Those are not her exact words but very close to it.

I thought about that and then the thought came to me this morning about what exactly does to "love yourself first", mean.

There is a difference between loving yourself first and being an egotistical ass. Putting others down to build others up has never helped anyone but keeps the BS alive.

My point is Delilah has been in the spotlight for over 20 years maybe 30 probably more and I think it's gone to her head a little bit.

I've listened to her show since my kids were small. My twins now 28 years old. I've spoken to her on the phone as well as did my daughter when she was 7. I thought Delilah was the most compassionate person on the radio. When I heard her last night my opinion changed some for her.

I'm sure like many people who are in the media, who think they have certain entitlements to say whatever they want, don't remember sometimes that they are human like the rest of the world. And I'm sure she will be saying many more words to her listeners that will make them feel special as she did with me and my daughter. I just thought her words were a bit negative and will caused more people to feel less of themselves then positive.

I thought Delilah built up people but last night she may have caused more people to feel less about themselves when they heard her response.

Just thoughts from a person who works every single day with trying to build people up not make others feel guilty. People are ignorant sometimes, myself included.

Until we see everyone as needing support to overcome their ignorance we're not doing any good in the world. We all could use a little rehab from time to time. No one is perfect. Not even Delilah!

Peace!

So Delilah wasn't just being sarcastic? Maybe she's introducing an element of edginess into the program. If so, it is sad :( ..... have you heard of Dr. Laura Schlesinger?? Are the 2 similar kinda? Cuz were it not for you, i'd only think of Tom Jones when the name comes up :)

In this one the character would play his record over and over again ... have you met him personally?
