I Feel Very Conflicted

A friend of mine who recently got a cat kept telling me how cute and goofy it is. While she was rambling about the cat's cute antics, she mentioned some things that I, who has owned cats all my life, found worrying. Mainly the constant pacing and pressing head against stuff.
I told her to get the cat checked, and it turns out the cat has prosencephalon disease. Thing is, now my friend is really upset with both the situation and with me, for some reason. She had really fallen in love with the cat, and now I feel almost guilty taking that joy away from her.

I know it's only right to get the cat help, but I don't even know how you treat that disease. What if the cat has to be put down? What if the vet's bill is really high?

I know I shouldn't regret it at ALL, but I sorta do... 馃槱

awful situation. I doubt your friend is really mad 'at' you, but needed somewhere to place the worry and hurt feelings. Just like you don't really regret telling her, but just the pain of the results. I'll pray for you and the little animal. Wish you all well.
Well you did the right thing, in time your friend might see that as well.

it seems like there could be a few various of causes for it.. anything from a tumor to poisoning or an accident injury so.. :/ who knows how much it would cost to find the cause and treat it .. sigh

Well sorry but you did nothing wrong that cat is ill. And them thinking it was something cute well not very good but then again they did not know it was ill,

It's not your fault.
You didn't make her cat sick. It's illogical for her to resent you pointing out something she needed to know about her cat's health.
