I Am At My Wits End

My husband won't talk to me. He just told me to leave him alone. This is after freezing me out for 5 days. We finally sat down to talk but he wouldn't look at me. I asked him to look at me and he refused. I kept asking and he kept refusing saying this was what I was going to get right now. It made me lose my cool and I made a sarcastic comment. The comment was "maybe I don't have 6 drinks in me so I can't be as calm --" he got up and walked out. I apologized and stated I know he is not drunk (it has only been 3 drinks so far, though I did not say that) and begged him again to talk to me. He still refused and just kept saying leave me alone, and locked himself in the bedroom.

@imLobo I couldn't settle for it because he just wouldn't listen to me. I sat patiently as he talked for half an hour (staring away from me as I faced him) and then when I tried to say something he interrupted several times. When I asked him to let me talk, he said it was pertinent to him so it was right to interrupt. I was like, but its not pertinent to me! That's when I asked him to look at me, but that obviously didn't work out.

Well for what reason? If he doesn’t feel like talking then.. he doesn’t really seem like the type you can force words out of so all you can do is wait it out.
Then again, what do I know lool
He must be really irritated though so I’d leave him alone for a while until he comes around himself

Edit: sorry, wasn’t paying much attention, didn’t realize you hadn’t talked in 5 days prior

Did something happen between you and him??

@Quimliqer The fight 5 days ago started when he was mad that I didn't make a better effort to make the kids be quiet getting breakfast when he had a 7 am meeting. I said he should have gone to the office if the meeting was so important. Instead of apologizing for my mistake, I turned it around on him and blamed him. This is what I always do. Apparently. (Dude I have gone to the office for 7 am meetings for this very reason. It seemed reasonable to me at the time.) But I get that my response was not appropriate. But I also get that he just hates my guts.

I get it that the meeting was important to him, but if he wants to have this at home, go to a quiet room and not expect the family to adhere to office rules..

I assume something led up to this impasse?
desperatewife · 46-50, F
@Kumbayakid Of course, wouldn't know where to start, though! Basically he hates my personality and has an undeveloped sense of humor. There's no cheating or anything like that. He just seems to dislike the way I am. And I dislike the way he is. But I don't ever try to hurt him on purpose.

Yikes. Councilor needed!

@Freefun74 Agreed.
