I Believe You Can Make Your Point Without Being Mean

I don't understand what kick people get from posting mean replies to posts on SW. I am ok with blunt and honest but fair. If you are just going to make a comment to be mean rather than to offer perspective then please think of the person at the other end. They are putting themselves out there and airing their vulnerabilities so a few small and mean words can hurt deep down :(
